THE EUGENE MENS SENIOR BASEBALL LEAGUE

Update from last meeting
We will be allowing 1 player under 25 per team
but they can not pitch and 1 father/son combination is still allowed
You need to
start contacting your players and letting them know you need
money for the season
The budget for 5 teams with a 20 game schedule is $3180/team (so for a
roster size of 14 that is ~$228/player)
Dates
money is due are:
April 11th --
$500
May 1st
-- $1500
June 1st --
$1180
I can not front the money to start the league this year like I have in
the
past so that is why I need some money on April 11th cause that is when we
will have the registration/tryout at Grand Slam and when I have to start
paying out money
Have players make checks out to EMSBL
It is your responsibility as managers to get the money in. If you
have
someone that will not pay, just don't have them back and get someone that
will or be willing to pay for that player yourself.
If a team
fails to meet the deadlines I will be refunding their portion that is not spent
already at that time to the manager and they will not have a team
Team
managers might charge more than the $228 per player because they don’t roster
that many or for equipment or jersey costs but the league needs the $3180 per
team
Here is a
link to the budget for 5
teams but I am still hopeful that we will have the 6th but have
to plan for 5 for now
If you are between the ages of 18 and 24 please
email me so that I can get
an idea of how much interest there is in getting an 18+ League going
Right now we can not go to 18+ because I feel
the league will lose some of its older players and teams would be unbalanced
We will be remaining a metal bat league for
2010
1.d Wood and metal bats
are allowed and both will be permitted for all tournaments. The maximum bat
differential established by the National organization is a minus 3 for any
type of metal or aluminum bat. No metal bats exceeding 36” in length and/or
a 2 5/8” diameter are permitted.
If
a player uses a bat exceeding this differential and a protest is made, the
offending batter will be declared an out.
